The US has more than 30,000 zip codes but what makes them tick?
We used a machine learning algorithm to group each zip code into 5 clusters based on demographic data from the American Communities Survey (a short-term version of the US Census) to understand trends and patterns in each group.
Why is this useful?
- It's interesting:)
- It can help you target specific types of zip codes for products & services
- Marketers can focus advertising & direct mail to zip codes where their customers reside
- Ads & promotions can fit specific cluster demographics (back-to-school vs first real job)
- Service providers can find buyers based on income & housing attributes
- It can help with finding places where you want to live (or not live) based on demographics
- Investors can use this information to find new markets, increase market share, open new stores & distribution locations, etc
We're currently in R&D mode so feel free to download for free (or leave a tip - $1.00 would be great).
Also, in the next few months, as new data becomes available, we'll update these groups.
Please leave a review and let us know if there's other data or information you'd like us to include.
